McHenry County officials, County Assessor - Alex Benitez, County Clerk - Joe Tirio, and County Treasurer Donna Kurtz will lead a panel discussion on the ABCs Of McHenry County Property Taxes. A presentation will be provided followed with questions presented for panel discussion and response.
Topic areas include: Understanding your tax bill, Applying for Exemptions such as Senior Freeze and Homestead, How to Appeal Your Assessment, How Your Tax Bill is Built, How Voters Change Tax Bills, and to How to Set up Fraud Alert to protect your property. Plus, any additional questions taxpayers may have. With the additional expertise offered by the Assessor and the Clerk/Recorder we should be able to share additional details and insight.
Hands-On demonstrations of Property Tax Tools you can use. All participants will receive a reference guide to take notes and use at home.
