2026 marks the 100th Anniversary of US Route 66 (aka "The Mother Road"). Come celebrate the “Main Street of America” from its birth in 1926 through its centennial. Join presenter Barbara J. Barrett for a nostalgic journey on “US Route 66” to discover its allure and attractions beginning in Chicago, the official start of “The Mother Road.” This presentation is sponsored by the Village of Lake in the Hills and the Algonquin Area Public Library District. We will also enjoy a light lunch, sponsored by Senior Helpers in Algonquin, some birthday cake, and trivia with prizes. Register online with the Village of Lake in the Hills, a small fee is required. Registration opens to LITH residents on 8/5 and non-residents on 8/12.
