Crystal Elliott-O'Connor, certified national trainer and race equity awareness educator, explores how we all as individuals are formed into racial categories in our society.
This session is designed to provide an introduction to strategies for talking with young children about race and racism. Participants will leave with a concrete approach for integrating these discussions as a regular and rich part of their routines with children. Designed for parents, caregivers and others with a stake in the early development of children, this session will offer a brief exploration of how we are racially socialized by society, and ways to be intentional about giving our children an anti-racist lens on their own lives and communities.
