Let’s celebrate Black History Month with a vibrant program of storytelling, music, and cultural traditions led by Kenyan educator and storyteller Elizabeth Kahura.

Elizabeth will guide us through Africa’s rich heritage using storytelling, poetry, proverbs, and riddles that inspire values like kindness, patience, and hard work. She will explore traditional folktales, fables, and myths alongside arts and crafts, wood carvings, handmade instruments, clothing, jewelry, and cultural artifacts. This program showcases the history, resilience, and creativity of African communities, honoring their traditions and talents. Elizabeth Kahura, a Kenyan native who has lived in the United States since 1995, serves as a cultural ambassador for African knowledge. Over the past two decades, her African Safari Program has engaged more than 20,000 audience members. As a storyteller, musician, and teacher, Elizabeth educates and entertains through folklore, music, language, and creative arts.
