A recollection for some and a history lesson for others, explore 135+ years of Chicago's roller skating history with writer Marcie Hill.
Starting with the first rink in the 1880s, Marcie Hill highlights Chicago’s role in the great phenomenon, including Chicago firsts, classism and racism, and the staying power of the world’s most popular sport and leisure activity. Marcie is a writer, blogger, trainer and author who left her job and 12-year career in human resources to pursue her dream of writing. An avid reader, she loves sharing little known and unknown facts, and is currently writing a book on Chicago's roller skating history. Her life's mission is to inspire and encourage others through words, action and creativity.
