Join us for a guided discussion on current global issues. The Great Decisions program explores eight key foreign policy challenges facing Americans each year.
Great Decisions is a program of the Foreign Policy Association, an organization that has promoted informed, nonpartisan discussion of U.S. foreign policy for more than 100 years. The program gives citizens the opportunity to better understand some of the most pressing global issues facing the United States today.
This discussion group meets once a month, from April through November 2026. Each month, participants read a chapter from the Great Decisions Briefing Book (the library will provide participants with one chapter/month upon registration), watch a short introductory video, and take part in a guided group discussion.
Each year, the Foreign Policy Association selects and briefs eight timely international topics. This year’s issues are as follows:
April - America and the World: Trump 2.0 Foreign Policy
May - Trump Tariffs and the Future of the World Economy
June - U.S.-China Relations
July - Ruptured Alliances and the Risk of Nuclear Proliferation
August - Ukraine and the Future of European Security
September - Multilateral Institutions in a Changing World Order
October - U.S. Engagement of Africa
November - The Future of Human Rights and International Law
