The American road has been celebrated in our lexicon, lore, legend, books, movies and songs. In 1837 three men surveyed a road from present day Algonquin, crossing the English prairie to McHenry . . . you know this road today as Route 31! Join retired history teacher and President of the McHenry County Historical Society Board, Robert Frenz, to hear stories of McHenry County roadways from 1837-1960.
Come early for coffee and conversation beginning at 1:30 pm. The program will begin promptly at 2 pm.
